I admire people who speak their mind. I however get a chuckle of what comes out of the mouths of kids. Our cute little neighbor girl who greets us almost everyday with a wave and a smile, and sometimes...small talk.As I was unloading groceries from my car, she ran over and said hello with a smile and a wave. I replied and continued to grab my bags. She stood there for a moment, you could tell she was pondering something and that she wanted to say something. She finally managed to open her mouth and the following creeped out. "Hey, so I was thinking. You LOVE Halloween, huh?" she asked with her hands in her pockets slowly rocking back and forth on her heels. "Yes. Yes I do. It's a fun Holiday don't you think?" I replied back. She smiled and nodded. Thinking I had to answer her question, but it was soon followed by another one. "Sooooo, you like Halloween, you have a BLACK cat, and you have dark hair."
Okay random. I smiled and again replied. "Yes, you know what. I guess I do." I smiled, and she got this huge grin obviously proud of her self she yelled. " I KNEW IT! You must be a....WITCH!"
Stunned and laughing, I composed myself and turned around. She was smiling bigger, and said. I won't tell, but I know your a good Witch. I explained to her that NO, I am not a witch. I just happen to love Halloween, have a black cat and dark hair. I never thought that I would need to defined myself to a 9 year old. Needless to say, it made me smile and I had a lovely chat with her mother. I just wish now I would have pointed and said...."Maybe I am."
